silica was born from me (sili) wanting to go back to the internet again! i've tried going back to fandom spaces many, many times but i've come to find out that my social anxiety and awkwardness goes beyond reality and into pixels... so i thought this was a better way for me to enjoy my online life :3

i also simply thought that i could do it. which i can!! i really don't know how to code, so everything has been trial and error. i learn from looking at other people's codes, trying to make sense of them. also looking at free templates help a lot bc i can literally break it down line by line.

i still use many templates on this site, but one day i would love to have everything made by hand. and bc my knowledge has been built from others, if u snoop thru the sites ive coded, feel free to take any snippets!! even the whole thing!! just let me know so i can see ur super awesome creation. i just want u to make smth!

i also wanted one single place of my own to keep all my fics and all of my other passions! im trying to steer clear from ao3 (still thinking of mirroring them over tho bc selfishly, i still want people to read my stuff...)

this was also just a more fun alternative to rentry, carrd, strawpage, etc. lol
